प्रसिद्ध स्वाधीनता संग्राम सेनानी व मेरे पूज्य पिता रोशनलाल गुप्त “करुणेश” की स्मृति में 8वें लीडर्स अवार्ड्स समारोह में राष्ट्रप्रेम व वीरता पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया। यह पुरस्कार अजितनगर चौराहा बाजार कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री राजेश यादव को दिया गया। इस समिति ने आंधी, तूफान, वारिश की परवाह किए बिना प्रतिदिन सुबह तिरंगे झंडे का ध्वजारोहण करने का कीर्तिमान कायम किया है।

नगर का प्रमुख कार्यक्रम 8 वाँ भव्य, गरिमामय लीडर्स अवार्ड्स समारोह 19 जनवरी 2020 को संपन्न हुआ। कार्यक्रम में उत्तराखंड की महामहिम राज्यपाल श्रीमती बेबीरानी मौर्या ने आगरा की विभूतियों को सम्मानित किया।

भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट में पिछले पांच सालों से लगातार बेहतर प्रदर्शन का प्रतिफल आगरा की क्रिकेटर गेंदबाज पूनम यादव को मिला है। अपनी घातक गेंदबाजी से दुनिया की तेजतर्रार बल्लेबाजों को आउट करने वाली पूनम यादव को अर्जुुुन अवार्ड आज 29 अगस्त को राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस के मौके पर राष्ट्रपति भवन में राष्ट्रपति महोदय द्वारा प्रदान किया गया।पूनम प्रतिष्ठित अर्जुनअवार्ड पाने वाली जिले और यूपी की पहली महिला क्रिकेटर हैं।

अर्जुुुन अवार्ड प्राप्त करना एक खिलाड़ी के लिए बहुत ही बड़ी उपलब्धि होती है। अवार्ड की घोषणा होते ही पूनम ने खुशी प्रकट करते हुए कहा कि मेरा सपना पूरा हो गया। इस अवार्ड में पूनम को पांच लाख की नगद धनराशि व बीस हजार की मासिक पेंशन मिलेगी। इसके तहत पूनम को सरकार द्वारा एक प्रापर्टी भी दी जाएगी।

आगरा शहर में 23 साल बाद किसी खिलाड़ी को यह पुरस्कार मिला है।इनसे पूर्व आगरा के आयरन मैन ऑफ एशिया कहे जाने वाले विजय सिंह चौहान ने सबसे पहले 1972 में आगरा को अर्जुन अवार्ड दिलाया। इसके 18 साल बाद वर्ष 1990 में हॉकी इंडिया के जगबीर सिंह को अर्जुन अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया। छह साल बाद वर्ष 1996 में आगरा के एथलीट अजीत भदौरिया को अर्जुन अवार्ड से नवाजा गया।

पूनम को अर्जुुुन अवार्ड के लिए चुने जाते ही ईदगाह रेलवे कॉलोनी स्थित घर पर बधाई देने वालों का तांता लग गया।पूनम उत्तर मध्य रेलवे के आगरा मंडल में कार्यालय अधीक्षक पद पर कार्यरत हैं। पूनम को अर्जुुुन अवार्ड मिलने पर उत्तर मध्य रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक राजीव चौधरी ने बधाई देते हुए कहा कि पूनम ने विश्व कप सहित अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैचों में राष्ट्र का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए गेंदबाजी में कई बार उल्लेखनीय प्रदर्शन किया है।

प्रशंसकों ने पूनम के पिता रघुवीर सिंह यादव से कहा कि आप बड़े भाग्यशाली है जो भगवान ने ऐसी बेटी दी। रघुवीर सिंह ने कहा कि भगवान करे सभी को ऐसी बेटी दे। पूनम की मां और छोटा भाई काफी खुश दिखे। पूनम के पिता ने बताया कि मोबाइल व सोशल मीडिया पर काफी संख्या में शुभचिंतक बधाई भेज रहे हैं। यह लोगों का प्यार है।यह बड़ी खुशी का दिन है।

पूनम ने अपने करियर में कुल 41 वन डे मैच खेलकर 63 विकेट झटके हैं। वहीं पूनम ने 54 टी 20 मैच खेलकर 74 विकेट लिए हैं। 2018 में हुए महिला क्रिकेट विश्व कप में पूनम की घातक गेंदबाजी की सभी ने प्रशंसा की। पूनम ने पिछले सालों में हुए आईसीसी के सभी टूर्नामेंटों में बेहतरीन गेंदबाजी कर इंडियन टीम को कई मौकों पर जिताया है।

पूनम की इस उपलब्धि से शहर के युवा खिलाड़ियों में निश्चित रूप से नव ऊर्जा का संचार हुआ है।

पूनम के कोच मनोज कुशवाह का भी शहर में जगह जगह अभिनन्दन किया जा रहा है।

इंडियन वूमेंस क्रिकेट टीम की ऑलराउंडर दीप्ति शर्मा का कहना है कि शहर की युवा महिला क्रिकेटर तेजी से आगे बढ़ रही हैं । उनकी मेहनत और लगन उन्हें यूपी सीनियर टीम का सदस्य बना रही हैं । यूपी का आगरा एकमात्र ऐसा शहर है जहां से स्टेट लेवल की क्रिकेट चैंपियनशिप में शहर की छह महिला क्रिकेटर एक ही टीम में शामिल है । यह आगरा में क्रिकेट के लगातार बढ़ने का सबसे मजबूत पक्ष है । जहां तक किसी खिलाड़ी के इंडियन वूमेंस क्रिकेट टीम में पहुंचने की बात है , इसके लिए सिर्फ परिश्रम चाहिए ।

Golden Chapter of Agra’s Sports World: President awarded Arjuna Award to Cricketer Poonam Yadav

Agra’s cricketer bowler Poonam Yadav has been the result of consistently better performance in Indian women’s cricket for the last five years. Poonam Yadav, who dismissed the world’s fiercest batsmen with her lethal bowling, was presented the Arjuna Award by the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29. Poonam is the first woman cricketer of the district and UP to receive the prestigious Arjuna Award .

Receiving the Arjuna Award is a huge achievement for a player. As soon as the award was announced, Poonam expressed happiness that my dream was fulfilled. In this award, Poonam will get cash amount of five lakh and monthly pension of twenty thousand. Under this, Poonam will also be given a property by the government.

The award was given to a player after 23 years in Agra city. Earlier, Vijay Singh Chauhan, called the Iron Man of Asia of Agra, first presented the Arjuna Award to Agra in 1972. After 18 years, Jagbir Singh of Hockey India was awarded the Arjuna Award in the year 1990. Six years later, in 1996, Agra athlete Ajit Bhadoria was awarded the Arjuna Award.

Soon after Poonam was selected for the Arjuna Award, there was a wave of congratulations at the house at Idgah railway colony. Poonam is working as the Office Superintendent in Agra Division of North Central Railway. While congratulating Poonam for receiving the Arjuna Award, Rajiv Chaudhary, General Manager, North Central Railway, said that Poonam has performed remarkably many times in bowling, representing the nation in international matches including the World Cup.

Fans told Poonam’s father Raghuveer Singh Yadav that you are very lucky that God gave such a daughter. Raghuveer Singh said that God should give such a daughter to everyone. Poonam’s mother and younger brother looked very happy. Poonam’s father said that a large number of well-wishers are sending congratulations on mobile and social media. This is the love of the people. It is a day of great happiness.

Poonam has taken 63 wickets in his career, playing a total of 41 ODIs. Poonam has taken 74 wickets playing 54 T20 matches. Poonam’s deadly bowling was praised by everyone in the 2018 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Poonam has bowled the Indian team on many occasions by bowling best in all ICC tournaments held in previous years.

This achievement of Poonam has definitely brought new energy in the young players of the city.

Poonam’s coach Manoj Kushwaha is also being greeted from place to place in the city.

Indian women’s cricket team all-rounder Deepti Sharma says that the young women cricketers of the city are moving fast. His hard work and dedication are making him a member of the UP senior team. Agra in UP is the only city from where six female cricketers of the city are included in the same team in the state level cricket championship. This is the strongest aspect of the steady growth of cricket in Agra. As far as a player is concerned about reaching the Indian women’s cricket team, it requires only diligence.
