It started in Kerala. Where robots are now taking up the responsibility of cleaning sewage, and thus humans stop getting into the gutter. The robot named ‘Bandicoot’ is invented by Jane Roboticus. These robots descend into the sewer and clean up the dirt.

It takes three to four hours to manually clean a sewer. At the same time, this robot finishes its work in 20 minutes. This robot has the ability to clean 10 manholes in a day. This robot is connected to a portable generator and compressor, its length is about 1.5 meters. The robot weighs about 80 kg and can go deep and clean up. A human operator navigates the robot inside the sewer by staying near the manhole and through the colored buttons on the control room.

The robot’s hands go inside the manhole and collect the concrete. While the robot’s ‘feet’ help stabilize the machine. It has sensors to measure the level of gases inside the sewer, lights for night time use and waterproof infrared watch, as well as a camera for viewing inside views.
